I Know What You're Going Through.
Because I've Been There.

My name is Miguel Bautista. I'm the founder of CFS Recovery. And I spent years exactly where you are right now.

From Living Fully to Barely Surviving

Before I got sick, I was the last person you'd expect to end up bedridden. I was a lifelong athlete. Football captain, wrestling captain, in the gym every day. I was ambitious, driven, and building a life.

Then in 2017, severe debilitating symptoms started taking over. I went on and off work, trying to push through. My body finally hit a wall.

It started with fatigue I couldn't explain. Then brain fog so thick I couldn't follow a conversation. Then pain that moved around my body with no pattern. Then crashes after the smallest effort.

Walking to the kitchen would put me in bed for days.

"At my worst, I couldn't feed myself. I couldn't shower. I couldn't read a sentence. My family had to spoon-feed me because I didn't have the strength to lift my arms."

For eight months straight, I was bedridden. I couldn't go downstairs. I couldn't shower alone. I had a bucket by my bed because I couldn't make it to the washroom.

I saw specialist after specialist. I spent thousands on tests, supplements, diets, protocols, IV therapy, naturopaths. Every blood test came back "normal."

Some told me it was stress. Some told me it was depression. Some told me it was all in my head.

None of them could explain why a previously healthy person was now unable to stand up.

The diagnosis didn't come with a solution. It came with: "Learn to manage it. There's no cure."

I refused to accept that.

Finding the Answer Nobody Gave Me

I started researching everything. Not the surface-level advice. The deep neuroscience. Why does the body get stuck in this state? What's actually happening in the nervous system?

And if the brain is neuroplastic, if it can learn new patterns, can it unlearn this one?

That question changed my life.

I discovered that chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, POTS, and the cluster of symptoms I was experiencing all shared a common root: a nervous system stuck in a chronic stress response.

The alarm system designed to protect me had gotten stuck in the "on" position. It was creating real, physical symptoms. Not because of a structural issue, but because my nervous system had learned a pattern of threat that it couldn't turn off.

And if it was learned, it could be unlearned.

"The moment I understood that my nervous system had learned this pattern, and could learn a new one, everything changed. Not overnight. But the direction changed."

In 2018, at my absolute lowest point, I ended up in the hospital. That's where it finally clicked. I started building a system around what I'd learned. I tested it on myself. I failed, adjusted, tried again, refined. Slowly, things started to shift.

The fog lifted a little. The crashes shortened. The pain became less constant.

By 2019, I had my life back. Running my own video business. Travelling. No more symptoms. Walking without calculating the cost. Thinking clearly. Living.

I had recovered.

Why I Built CFS Recovery

When I recovered, I had a choice. I could go back to my old life. Or I could take everything I'd learned, every technique, every framework, every mistake, and build it into a system that other people could follow.

That wasn't really a choice at all.

I knew what it felt like to be told there was no answer. I knew what it felt like to spend thousands on treatments that didn't work. I knew what it felt like to lose years of my life to a condition nobody understood.

And I knew that if someone had handed me this system when I was at my worst, I would have recovered faster.

"I built the recovery system I wish I'd had when I was at my worst."

So I built CFS Recovery. Not as a theoretical program designed by someone who'd read about chronic fatigue in a textbook. But as a practical, step-by-step system created by someone who lived it, survived it, and came out the other side.

Then I did something no other recovery system does: I hired coaches who had recovered using the same system.

Not therapists. Not life coaches. Not people who'd studied nervous system retraining in a classroom.

People who had been bedridden. People who had been told they'd never recover. People who did recover, and now dedicate their careers to helping others do the same.

We call them Thriver Coaches.

Our Philosophy

What We Believe

Recovery Happens

Not just management. Not just coping. Real, documented recovery. Our coaches are the proof. Our clients are the proof. Thousands of stories and counting.

Lived Experience Matters

We don't coach from textbooks. Every coach on our team has personally recovered from the conditions they help you with.

Your Symptoms Are Real

We will never tell you it's "all in your head." Your nervous system may be creating real, physical symptoms, and many people find they can be resolved.

This Is Personal.
For Me and For You.

I built CFS Recovery because no one should have to go through what I went through alone. No one should have to figure this out by trial and error. And no one should be told that recovery isn't possible, because we've seen it happen thousands of times.

I'm not asking you to take my word for it. I'm asking you to look at the evidence.
